Last week during the trilogue meeting, an agreement was reached on the revision of the European social security coordination regulations. The package agreed includes the mandatory prior notification for postings in the construction industry and will also ensure better cooperation between member states to prevent social dumping.
The European Federation of Building and Woodworkers (EFBWW) applauds the decision, which represents one step further to fight social dumping and labour exploitation and to improve working conditions in the construction industry.
The agreement will be discussed at the meeting of Deputy Permanent Representatives (Coreper I) tomorrow and many Member States still need to be convinced to vote in favour. We call on the Member States and EP to swiftly adopt the package as it is.
