After the agreement reached last week in the trilogue meeting, by the European Parliament, the Slovenian Presidency and the European Commission, the revision of the Regulations on the coordination of social security systems was rejected yesterday during the Coreper I meeting. The EFBWW is very disappointed by this decision.
The package - which included the mandatory prior notification of postings in the construction industry - was an indispensable tool to ensure better cooperation between member states to prevent social dumping and impact the lives of millions of citizens.
EFBWW general secretary, Tom Deleu: “The EU wastes a good opportunity to effectively fight social dumping and labour exploitation and to improve working conditions in the construction industry.”
