In 2009, the EFBWW and its affiliates created the website www.constructionworkers.eu, where posted and migrant workers can find information about wages and working conditions, (working time, holidays, wage deductions, sickness and injuries) in several countries.

Over the years, the website has been further developed and today it contains information about the applicable wages and working conditions in 36 countries in 35 languages. The present project concerns a follow-up of the previous projects and aims at building on the work done, with posted, migrant workers - including third country nationals - at its centre.

Besides the EFBWW, the trade unions FILCA CISL from Italy, FCIW PODKREPA from Bulgaria, and LBNA from Latvia are involved in the project.

The project will continue and reinforce the investments already made with regard to the information, communication and dissemination aspects by adding languages to increase the website use and reachability, by insisting on updating the website and improving the back office, continuing the communication strategy mainly towards workers, but also by improving the cooperation with other organisations, such as labour inspectorates. The project also aims to add a new dimension, namely to create an alert mechanism to support workers who find themselves in a situation of distress and exploitation and to facilitate workers coming forward on all safety and security issues. The focus will be more on third country nationals as there is a growing number of posted third country national workers. The EFBWW wants to further develop www.constructionworkers.eu into a tool to inform workers and to help detect abuses.
