This practical guide is designed to support trade unions, EWC members and worker representatives in navigating and analysing corporate sustainability reports under the CSRD. Tailored to the realities of the construction, building materials and wood sectors, it demonstrates how AI tools can be used to extract relevant social, health and safety, and supply chain information from complex reports. The guide aims to empower workers’ representatives to engage more effectively in due diligence processes, social dialogue and company discussions, ensuring that workers’ rights and sustainability issues are properly addressed.
The guide is the result of a dedicated training organised in 2025, that brought together trade union experts, EWC members and EFBWW coordinators from the construction, building materials and wood sectors. It is composed of a step‑by‑step instructions and tips, sector‑specific priorities and metrics, as well as a practical checklist to accompany EWC members when analysing their sustainability reports.
