The EFBWW welcomes the European Commission’s initiative to develop a Quality Jobs Roadmap. The background note, submitted to social partners for the consultation meeting on 5 May 2025, provides encouraging indications of the Commission’s policy direction. It rightly recognises that the challenges posed by the twin transition, geopolitical instability, and the need to sustain a resilient EU economy and industrial base, require a strong focus on quality jobs and decent working conditions, including fair wages.
This policy paper constitutes EFBWW’s written contribution to the ongoing consultation process (deadline 1 July 2025). It outlines sector-specific demands from the construction and woodworking industries and fully supports the ETUC's resolution and overarching demands for a Quality Jobs Roadmap.
